The Role

Fairstone is recruiting for a senior (Full stack) software engineer to to join our head office in the North East.

Reporting to the Head of Delivery and acting as deputy to the Full stack Principal Engineer, you will contribute to the design and delivery of technology change initiatives, both client and colleague facing.

As an experienced software developer, you will be 100% hands-on and will be responsible for the following:

  • Contributing to product team delivery of brownfield and greenfield change initiatives.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
  • Contributing to, and following, software development best practices.
  • Coaching and mentoring junior members of staff.
  • Taking ownership of delivery of work assigned.
  • Acting as deputy to the Principal Engineer.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to regular Scrum ceremonies.
  • Embedding software development best practices across the team.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with other IT teams.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
  • Involvement in solution design work

 

  • Highly motivated individual with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborative in nature and enjoys working with others.
  • Enjoys coaching and mentoring more junior members of the team.
  • Shows initiative and can make pragmatic decisions.
  • Have a strong passion for software engineering and other technology domains.
  • Enjoys autonomy and is willing to take ownership of initiatives from inception to completion.

 

  • Microsoft Azure inc. App Services, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure AD, Azure SQL, Azure API Management.
  • Web development technologies inc. React JS, React Native, ASP.NET MVC.
  • C#, .net core, ASP.NET core, JavaScript, T-SQL, SSIS, VB.NET (preferable).
  • CI/CD technologies and principles inc. Azure DevOps and Github.
  • Software engineering standards and best practices.
  • Software and application architecture.
  • Testing frameworks and best practices.
  • TDD and BDD preferable.
  • SQL Server.
  • Agile delivery (SCRUM, Kanban).
